“I just went to a psychic and she told me things about myself that no one would know! Isn’t that amazing?” Ever hear this? I think we all know someone who has been to a psychic. People have different reasons for going. Some are curious, some want to hear from departed loved ones, some want inside information about their future. And they don’t realize the danger they have just put themselves in.
Going to a psychic is not innocent, harmless fun. It’s playing with demons. How do I know? I’ve experienced it. As a former spiritualist, I had many connections with the “other side”; with what I thought were spirit guides from heaven. They were not. My spirit guides, and all spirit guides, are demons disguised as angels of light. And they are very good at deception.
My spirit guides told me many positive messages, but one thing was clearly missing. They never mentioned Jesus. Never. Then one day during a spiritual meditation, Jesus actually appeared and my spirit guides vanished instantly! Why? Because demons flee from Jesus!

I wrote about this life changing experience in my book, Over the Crystal Ball. My goal is to help those dabbling with the occult to understand that demons are behind the information they receive from psychics. It’s not trustworthy. Just because they tell you things about your past, doesn’t mean they know about your future. They don’t. And the psychics don’t even realize they’re dealing with demonic! Everyone is duped.
So how do you respond when someone tells you about their visit to a psychic? With compassion and humility, kindly educate them about their experience. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 tells us, “There shall not be found among you who burns his son or daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord…” Why is it an abomination to the Lord? Because you are literally consulting Satan over seeking God.
“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light,” 2 Corinthians 11:14. With an amazing slight-of-hand, demons can tell us all about our past and impersonate our loved ones. I understand curiosity about spiritual things and how someone may just be looking for answers, but psychics are not the way. It’s a demonic ruse to pull you away from Jesus and steal your soul. 1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be soberminded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
Let your friend know that Jesus has the real truth and in him you can trust. Seeking God’s will for your life and spending time in God’s word will give you a better future than any psychic ever could. God is all knowing, all powerful, and omnipresent. He loves you and wants what’s best for you. Including eternal life with Him, through faith in His Son Jesus! Now that’s something to be amazed about!
God Bless! Linda
