Many Christians don’t celebrate Halloween because of it’s dark and pagan roots. I used to be one of them. Then I realized that in the midst of all the spiritual warfare, I had a choice. I could turn my back on the holiday and sit on the sidelines or get in the battle and fight for the Lord. I chose to fight.
How, you ask? By being a light in a dark place and sharing the love of Jesus in a non-threatening way. I participate in handing out candy at our church’s annual Trunk or Treat event. Along with candy, I give away gospel tracts geared for kids. Don’t underestimate the power of a tract in the hands of a child. You can purchase fun tracts with cartoons that kids will love to read. And once it’s in their home, parents and siblings may read it as well.
I also set up a table with a sign that says, ”Free Books Take One” where I offer kid’s books that teach the gospel message and bibles in an easy-to-read format. I don’t push the books, but it’s amazing how many are taken. People are hungry for the Word! Kids too!

The best part of evangelizing during Halloween is that you can get as creative as you want. Think outside the box and find a fun way to share Jesus from your front porch, Halloween party, or trunk or treat event.
So, you have a choice too. You can sit on the sidelines or get in the spiritual fight! I hope you enjoy sharing Jesus this Halloween. Let me know in the comments how you spread the gospel during this spooky season-
God Bless-
Linda
