We all sin. Whether it’s a big sin or small, sometimes it’s hard to truly believe we are forgiven. We doubt how a holy God could forgive us and we don’t totally forgive ourselves. We walk thru life carrying the guilt and it’s a burden that wears us down. But there is good news! We don’t have to be oppressed by our guilt and shame! God has forgiven us and He has given us His word to help us repent and turn to Him! Here are some wonderful Bible verses to encourage us when we miss the mark:

“…for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.”      2 Chronicles 30:9

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts;                                                let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him;                                                                      and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”       Isaiah 54:7

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”          Psalm 103:12

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”     Hebrews 8:12

“I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me.”       Jeremiah 33:8

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”        1 John 1:9

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”      1 John 1:7

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

I’m so grateful that I can look upon these verses and know that God loves us so much that He sent His son to die for our sins. We can be free from the burden of our guilt and shame; we are forgiven! Rejoice! I hope this post has been a blessing to you!
