Does life seem to be full of turmoil lately? Our schedules are hectic, we’re pulled in many directions with work, family, and responsibilities. We turn on the news and there’s so much happening in our world it seems like we can’t keep up. Where do we find peace? In a quiet moment, a night out, or a vacation? Those may be well needed pauses, but they are only temporary. How do we find real peace? Peace in the midst of our turmoil?
Let’s look to the Bible for some answers. Here are some beautiful verses we can meditate on and keep in our hearts to help us deal with all the daily stresses we encounter:
- “Lord, You will establish peace for us, for You have also done all our works in us.” Isaiah 26:12
- “I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8
- “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind has stayed on You, because he trusts You.” Isaiah 26:3
- “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1
- “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
We have a mighty God who loves us and wants us to have joyful, peaceful lives. We can trust Him to take care of us. There is comfort in knowing that God will give us peace when we keep our eyes on Him. Jesus tells us in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” I love that. What a gift!
I hope this has been a blessing to you!
